Hello! My name is and I am a bilingual educator and tutor. I just graduated from University of Washington with my masters in teaching, and have spent the last year teaching dual language Spanish kindergarten. I have a lot of experience tutoring over the past 10 years, including being an au pair and English language tutor in Spain in 2017, a ESL teacher in South Korea in 2018, and a Spanish language instructor at George Fox University when I was in college 2020-21. I love teaching in all it's forms! I am flexible, kind, and I put my students and their needs at the forefront whether working with a whole class or working one on one.

I'm a very laid back teacher. I focus mainly on concept application above all. It makes more sense to me to cover ten topics that are understood fully by a student, than thirty topics that aren't retained. I am quite patient, and I can ensure that every student gets personalized attention.

I am incredibly passionate about teaching and helping my students grow into generators of knowledge - not just passive recipients of information. If we work together, I will bring my diverse range of experiences - from studying spider monkeys in the amazon to conducting multiple linear regressions in Stata - to help you connect with your studies. My situation was unique. I had serious epileptic seizures during high school resulting in multiple brain surgeries and a long, challenging recovery. Matt entered my life during this time; I still had assignments to complete before graduation and an impending SAT exam, so I met with Matt twice a week and learned the essential concepts of writing and reading comprehension. While math was my strong suit, Matt helped me identify some earlier math concepts that needed refreshing. My initial SAT score prior to my relationship with Matt was 1260, but, after tutoring, I received a 1510 and was accepted by my school of choice for pre-med studies. I continue to meet with Matt two or three times per week during my undergraduate studies for more advanced writing strategies. I cannot imagine a better academic mentor than I have found with Matt.

Kate is a dedicated educator and I cannot recommend her highly enough! She has been tutoring my second grader in both reading and math for several months and her tailored approach has significantly improved his skills and confidence in each subject. Kate fosters a positive learning environment, making the sessions enjoyable for my son while still remaining focused on achieving academic progress. I am truly grateful for the impact she has made on my child’s education!
