About this tutor

Hello World!

>>> My name is Sean Street and I am extremely grateful to receive your consideration for math tutor! <<<

Below, I will highlight my background and milestones from my teaching journey... but first, please determine honestly what type of help you need in math:

1. “Help with my math class in its entirety!”

I am available to support your growth in math if you foresee yourself needing additional help throughout the academic year. Often, students will identify that they feel “behind” in math because they weren’t able to understand concepts from the previous year. If this is how you feel, I have a solution and I recommend skipping to the bottom and subscribing to my “Tutoring Block Sessions - Semester", which will detail the academic plan and discounted pricing.

2. “Help with a certain subject and/or topic.”

I am available to support your mastery of various math concepts. From my experience (gained from both learning and teaching), each subject and/topic will almost certainly start off confusing for you - but I am confident that through repetition and clarity, you will grow. I recommend subscribing to “Tutoring Block Sessions - Quarter” which will detail the academic plan and pricing.

3. Help with doing assignments and/or projects.

I am available to support your development of a high-quality math product. Often, a semester’s worth of hard work boils down to the midterm, final and a big assignment/project. I recommend subscribing to my “Tutoring Block Sessions - Big Assignments/Projects” which will detail the academic plan and pricing.

I am currently a cyber engineer in the DMV-area but in my past (2013-2014) I took a break from engineering to teach. I received my Master of Curriculum and Instruction in Secondary Mathematics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Additionally, I have experience teaching math to both middle school (Carver MS - Watts, CA) and high school (Mojave HS - N Las Vegas) students. I have officially taught classes for subjects including (but probably not limited to): basic math, geometry, pre-calculus, trigonometry and high school exit exam prep. However, if you are in middle or high school, I am qualified to teach your class.

I was a varsity football coach for five (5) years and I have coached many student-athletes through rigorous math in order to reach a state championship and college. However, just because I am here now doesn’t take away from the struggles I used to have in math. My freshman year of college I almost lost my scholarship over my performance in math, so I can definitely help you avoid traps that I had previously fallen into. I can also show you how to shake back and perform at a higher level.

Honestly, I love tutoring and mentorship as much as the next person but I am on working an extra job to help pay off graduate student loans. When that is done, I will be providing these services for charity. If you have any questions about getting to college, going to college and/or post-college, please ask me! It will certainly make this worth both of our time if I get to share some of my knowledge with you.

$40/hr - Single Session (Zoom)

$40/hr - Project/Big Assignment (Zoom)

$50 (inquiry-based) - Virtual Lesson (YouTube)

$520 (5-week program) - 15 sessions (2 sessions FREE!)

$999 (10-week program) - 30 sessions (5 sessions FREE!)

The rate is $40 for a single session that lasts one (1) hour. The tutoring session will be a fully-interactive, online tutoring session where I will teach the student, answer questions and demo problems on paper/whiteboard and/or log into an academic platform with a student to review problems.

Upon the completed payment to: and emailing your contact information to [email protected], I will email back to confirm the receipt of your payment and send you a request to schedule date(s)/time(s). Once we set the schedule, I will generate an invitation for a “Zoom” meeting. Upon scheduling, I will request that you send me any materials to support your session at least one (1) day in advance - this is very important for both of us to enhance the quality of the session. I work daily as an engineer, so often I need to go back and review educational details that are important for your growth, while also remaining aligned with your current curriculum. I will need time to study materials, otherwise, potential lies in getting all of the right answers but with minimal student understanding.

This is a ten (10)-week program where I offer discounted tutoring rates for clients that commit to a “tutoring block session”, which can be described as a grouping of three (3) separately scheduled “TUTORING SINGLE SESSION(S)” during each academic school week (Mon - Fri). The price is $999 for a total of 30 tutoring sessions, with a total discount of $201 (value of five (5) FREE tutoring single sessions).

In addition to the services outlined above in the “TUTORING SINGLE SESSION(S)” section, I will assist the student by creating study, practice and remediation (upgrade weaknesses) plans. I will develop study materials for the student outside of our normal sessions to help reinforce learning and give the student opportunities to learn “old math” that their current teacher/professor won’t be able to teach them during class, due to lack of time.

This is a five (5)-week program where I offer discounted tutoring rates for clients that commit to a “tutoring block session”, which can be described as a grouping of three (3) separately scheduled “TUTORING SINGLE SESSION(S)” during each academic school week (Mon - Fri). The price is $520 for a total of 15 tutoring sessions, with a total discount of $80 (value of two (2) FREE tutoring single sessions).

In addition to the services outlined above in the “TUTORING SINGLE SESSION(S)” section, I will assist the student by creating study and practice plans.

This service is to support clients looking for support in the development of a project and/or needs assistance on a long-term assignment. My rate for project support is $40 an hour. I can also do half-hours  (i.e. 1.5-hrs = $60) as long as there is a minimum of one (1).

Additionally, I create content that can support a lesson. If you need and/or want tutoring services but cannot find the time to schedule, I have a solution for that. If you provide me with the materials and/or problems in question, I will create a lesson on YouTube and provide a link. The price for this service is $50.

Ah, the business part but we have to do it:

  1. mutual respect- we have to make sure the energy we bring into the session is always positive +.

  2. be on time - unfortunately, I do not have a lot of extra time. Naturally, I would stay as late as possible but my schedule is tight, so tardiness could result in loss of teaching/learning time.

  3. remain engaged - our sessions must have balance (teaching = learning), so the more I’m talking, the less you are probably writing. My goal is to support you through learning by engagement, which means I may need you to talk or write so that I can assess your skills.

  4. stay cool - you got this and you’re in good hands, I promise.

He was very prepared and would come up with lesson plans to help prepare. He was also very patient and willing to adapt to different learning styles.

Sean uses multiple ways of teaching students to fit their best learning styles. He understands that all students have unique abilities and taps in to their full potential !

  • Jarrett Blythe

Mr. Street is very articulate and very efficiently breaks down math problems for the average student to understand.

  • Vincent Lewis

First off let me start by saying Mr. Street is amazing! I was what you would call a non traditional student at my local university. I had not been enrolled in school for 10 years. When I decided to go back, I knew I was going to need some extra help in math. Math has never been my strongest subject. The way Mr. Street dissected and simplified each problem made it easier for me to translate. Mr. Street is the epitome of a great instructor and mentor. If you’re looking for someone with passion, proficiency, and enthusiasm, Mr. Street is nothing less than. I would 100% recommend his tutoring services!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The 1st step is to detach the student from external expectations. The students' learning experience is exclusive to them and I want to support that by clearing an unnecessary layer of anxiety. Students build knowledge at their own rate, so they must become a stakeholder in driving the learning. In order to do that, I must first check their baseline knowledge so I can properly pace the rigor.
