Hello! My name is Brett and I'm an adjunct professor at North Carolina Central University where I teach online classes in statistics and psychology. As a current statistics professor and former engineering major in undergrad, I specialize in teaching all math and some science courses from k-12 and into college. I live in Salt Lake City and am open to online or in-person tutoring sessions! My goal as a tutor is to ensure students understand concepts at a foundational level so much so that they end up loving math and science just as much as I do!

We provide homework help, test prep, and improving math skills through a customized learning plan based on the needs of the student. Each session is 1 hour in length. After a FREE assessment, we'll put together a customized learning plan and schedule of sessions for each student. We typically meet in person at our tutoring center, but we can also do session online or a combination of both. We provide weekly tutoring sessions for 2 times or 3 times per week with each session being 1 hour in length. I am currently a math teacher at a 6-12 charter school. I have experience teaching every math class from 6th grade through Math III, specializing in Geometry and Math II. I work at a school with a high special education population and am used to working with students with varying educational needs. Teaching math is my passion, and I believe in my heart it is possible to get every student to realize they are capable of understanding and even loving math.

I love being able to bring both my enthusiasm and experience to the table. Passing on what I've learned from my own tutors is my commitment. I thought it made me so happy to finally get something that was so difficult for me to understand. I've found that it's even better from the other side. It's so satisfying navigating students through a concept that they've struggled with and come out hyped that they got it.

I love helping others see connections and patterns in math as they develop strategies to solve various problems. It is fun to identify the rules and patterns rather than simply try to memorize formulas. It is so helpful to see the reasoning behind formulas, strategies, etc. and remember than math is one of our few consistencies in life.

We provide an assssment of each students strengths and weaknesses and then develop a personalized learning plan to help kids excel at math.
