I love to teach and excite students in whatever they are learning. I began teaching in public schools when I was 22. I taught 3rd and 4th graders for 11 years in all subjects. I then stopped teaching when I had my first child. However, my children were homeschooled and I taught many different types of classes in a homeschool co-op. My main focus is on elementary age students in all subjects. However, if you have a group of students who would like me to teach a mini science class, I can do all ages! I enjoy coming up with new ways to teach a lesson, and I am passionate about my students.

I'm an entrepreneur with a passion for coaching and tutoring on the side. I'm a big believer that not everyone learns in the same way, and sometimes a student needs a different approach than is given by a teacher in a classroom. Part of my strategy is to get to know the student well, conduct a learning style assessment, and build / adapt my coaching strategy to fit what works for the student. My name is Hannah Baker. I am a certified teacher. Although my degree is as a generalist of all subjects from early childhood through sixth grade, I particularly love upper elementary reading and writing! In my last year as a classroom teacher (5th Grade ELAR) I saw tremendous growth. By the end of the year, I had 90% proficiency and 50% mastery. I have spent the last four years teaching in the public education system where I received a Master Designation from the Texas Education Agency for my outstanding teaching skills. I am certified in both Texas and Oklahoma as an educator for Early Childhood through Eighth Grade education with an emphasis on the Science of Teaching Reading. In addition to my teaching experience, I have also tutored multiple students in a variety of ways from 2016 til now, my most recent student being a homeschooled senior learning Geometry in which we utilized Zoom to meet.
