About
I am a Mechanical Engineering major with 5+ years of freelance tutoring experience and my college hired me to be an official tutor to the school's athletes.
I have taught Math to elementary school children, and adult learners, and I am trained to engage with learners with learning disabilities.
My aim is to understand my student's goals and learning styles as well as shore up the foundations they need. I teach by breaking concepts down into actionable steps and test students frequently for understanding. I do not move on from a topic if there is no demonstrated understanding.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
- We figure out a goal. The goal doesn't need to be grades-based but we need a goal nonetheless
- We figure out weaknesses and strengths
- We create a plan together and if desired, a schedule to keep to that plan :)
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was an informal tutor in high school. I currently tutors college level Maths and Physics while also teaching SAT.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes.
$35/hr for Physics I, all Math below Calculus I and MatLab Tutoring.
$45/hr for Physics II and Calculus II and III
$50/hr and above for SAT tutoring (as is industry standard)
I am willing to negotiate prices for determined students.
How did you get started teaching?
In high school, people would come up to me and just ask for explanations of a concept. I realized that explaining things to people was fun and also benefitted me because it helped solidify knowledge.
When I got to college and needed to get job, I decided begin tutoring again but this time, get paid.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with high schoolers of all grades and I am currently working even more with college freshmen and sophomores.
