Med Student Tutor
About
I am currently a second-year medical student (MD) at UT-Health San Antonio. I love learning about the human body and clinical applications to improve people's lives. I have academic experience an a wide-variety of undergraduate and graduate coursework including: Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Algebra, Calculus, Psychology, Counseling, and many others.
I really enjoy helping others make improvements. As a tutor, I get to help students overcome obstacles or challenging material. When I help others achieve their goals, I get to experience the sense of accomplishment along with them. I personally invest myself into my work with other people and take pride in getting results.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I understand that not everyone learns the same way and that we all have different strengths and weaknesses. When helping someone with academics for the first time, I try to make sure I understand both the subject matter and the person I am trying to help. I believe the best way to identify strengths and weaknesses is to jump right in and start working through the material together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Previous Academic Experience:
M.S. Engineering Management from Missouri Science and Technology
B.S. Psychology from United States Military Academy at West Point
Completed 21 hours of masters-level coursework in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Texas at San Antonio
I have effectively prepared for and taken the GRE and MCAT.
Previous Teaching/Tutoring experience: I am currently an anatomy tutor for students enrolled in the Physician Assistant program at UT-Health. In college, I served as an academic officer overseeing 120-150 students at any given time; I identified those in need of tutoring, recruited tutors, organized tutoring sessions, and served as the tutor when applicable.
