I developed a passion for tutoring and teaching while at Rice University in Houston TX, that is where my love for tutoring started. I realized how much I enjoyed helping my classmates understand complex concepts and seeing that “aha” moment when something finally clicked. Over the years, I’ve developed a passion for mentorship and constantly adapting my approach to fit each student’s needs, whether tutoring math, mentoring underprivileged students, or training new tutors. Education is more than memorization; it is about building confidence, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.

After 30 years in media production, I changed careers and became a classroom teacher through an alternative certification program in Texas. I hold these certifications currently: Generalist 4-8, Social Studies 8-12, Journalism 7-12, and ESL Supplemental 4-12. I recently retired from the classroom, but want to continue my ties to education. The bulk of my classroom experience is with students that have learning differences such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and executive functioning difficulties. I have specialized in working with students on an individual basis and delivering instructions based on their learning styles.

I have a degree in Theatre and World Communication and always had a passion for teaching and the written word. I have traveled the world learning about other cultures and cultivating new wisdom and knowledge that allows me to work with all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds. I am a dynamic English Language and Test Prep specialist with a decade of teaching and tutoring experience with students of all ages. I am TEFL/TESOL certified, have a bachelor's in political science from Georgetown University and a Master's in Education from University College London. My forte is helping students understand their strengths and areas of growth through targeted Interventions in order to prepare them for whatever learning challenge they are facing.
