I pretty much breathe English. I've been writing seriously since middle school, and I've won a number of writing contests over the years. In May 2019 I graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in English and a concentration in creative writing. I particularly enjoy revising/editing stories and essays but can also help with Literary Analysis, Composition, etc as well as most standardized tests and middle school/high school subjects. I am a retired teacher, counselor, and librarian. I have taught and tutored many students individually and in small groups. I am patient, caring, and creative - I try to make learning fun. I also have worked with students with special needs and was a librarian/teacher at Shelton School, a school for learning differences, for twelve years.

I am a former teacher with certifications in PreK-6th grade core subjects as well as all grade levels of Physical Education, Special Education, and English as a Second Language. I have experience as a middle school PE teacher and coach, a 3rd grade Reading/Language Arts/Social Studies Teacher, and as an assistant in a self-contained special education classroom. I’m now staying home with my own children, but I would love to continue working with young learners. I am passionate about building relationships and helping students gain the confidence and tools they need to take charge of their learning and be successful in and out of the classroom.
