Hi, my name is Laura. I have been teaching in various forms of education for over thirty years. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Education: Early Childhood through 4th grade. I taught in public schools, homeschooled my own children, and taught online to students and adults in different parts of the world. I consider myself laid back and easy to talk with. I am very good at helping students learn the fundamentals of reading, math, and conversational skills.

I love to help all students. I am an Aeronautical Engineer with a passion for math. One on one tutoring is so helpful and I am willing to serve the different needs of each student. Math is FUN! I always try to make tutoring a game, whether it's second grade math or high school algebra; students are with me to learn and I make sure they succeed! I love sharing the fun of math with all my students! Everyone learns differently, so it's always an exciting challenge for me to help in a students success. I have taught english and composition for three years at the college level and have tutored in ESL as well. I also have advanced degrees in english and literature and I am working on my PhD currently. Additionally, I have minors in linguistics. I love teaching because I view teaching as collaborative; I believe the teacher learns from the student as much as the student learns from the teacher. I try to find creative and varied methods to teach writing and literature becuase all students learn differently and my goal is to reach every student where they are so they can achieve thier goals....
