After 30 years in media production, I changed careers and became a classroom teacher through an alternative certification program in Texas. I hold these certifications currently: Generalist 4-8, Social Studies 8-12, Journalism 7-12, and ESL Supplemental 4-12. I recently retired from the classroom, but want to continue my ties to education. The bulk of my classroom experience is with students that have learning differences such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and executive functioning difficulties. I have specialized in working with students on an individual basis and delivering instructions based on their learning styles.

As a biology graduate, I have developed a strong passion for understanding how living systems work and for helping others make sense of complex scientific concepts. Through my coursework, I have built a solid foundation in topics such as cell biology, genetics, and human anatomy, while also learning the importance of clear communication and critical thinking. I have spent the last four years teaching in the public education system where I received a Master Designation from the Texas Education Agency for my outstanding teaching skills. I am certified in both Texas and Oklahoma as an educator for Early Childhood through Eighth Grade education with an emphasis on the Science of Teaching Reading. In addition to my teaching experience, I have also tutored multiple students in a variety of ways from 2016 til now, my most recent student being a homeschooled senior learning Geometry in which we utilized Zoom to meet.
