Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I ask them what their goal is. Then, I ask them what they need me to do. I then assess their capabilities and understand their strengths and weaknesses in order to adequately help them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken math classes up through Calculus including Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Trigonomerty. I have had high A's in all of these classes.
I also am an experienced teacher. Aside from tutoring my peers I have been a teacher's assistant in both afterschool classes and summer camps.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $20 an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I started as a teacher's assistant when I was 14.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from ages 6-18.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be ready to put in the work :)
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals? and Where are you struggling? are the biggest questions to ask when evaluating yourself. Your teachers are trained to know where you need help, so its important to ask them so that you know what you need to work on
