I have had the opportunity to teach and tutor a large number of diverse students at various levels of mathematics and science. I have been tutoring since high school and strongly believe in helping those who need support. I have been teaching an eclectic selection of courses for over forty years. I have formally taught a variety of engineering courses. I recently taught high school students computer programing part-time for two years. My background in engineering helps me to provide strong math and science skills and my ability to understand the perspectives of my students allows me to personally adapt to their needs and ensure strong progress. My inherent ability to do well on standardized testing is useful for tutoring for the SAT and ACT tests. Besides the time spent personally with a student, I can help provide test preparation strategies.

I have experience as a tutor for ten years working with the same students as go through their schooling. I have worked with students from elementary up to college for math and some science including chemistry and physics. Most of my experience comes from working with students in middle school and high school level math. I try to find different ways of explaining a concept until understanding occurs. I love it when I can help students when they might be having trouble and become more confident in their work. I try to be prepared for each session and encourage parents or students to let me know or send the subject matter, questions, or homework

The most rewarding part of tutoring for me is when a new concept “clicks” with a student - their excitement is contagious, and it’s a privilege to be able to help them reach that point! Fun fact about me is that I’m a dual sport mathlete. I partner with students on a one-on-one basis in the SAT and ACT through SoFlo Tutors, my tutoring agency. I scored in the top percentile on both exams, studied at the University of Florida with a degree in financ

Hi, I'm Shannon, and I'm here to help you achieve your test prep goals! I graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in 2009 and from Brown University with a M.A. in Education Policy in 2014. I've been teaching and tutoring the SAT for over a decade, and have significant experience with the ACT and GRE as well. We have two options for structuring our tutoring time together, depending on your needs. Option 1: Crash Course - A general overview of the test structure, format, question types, and strategies. If you only have a couple of weeks before the test and you have limited experience with it, this is the option I’d recommend. You’ll g...

Celine is a great tutor. She is knowledgeable on every subject. I have seen a great improvement in my kid’s academic performance since she is been tutoring them. The most important thing about her is how patient she is with the kids. I also introduced her to one of my friends whose child is preparing for SAT and the feedback has been positive from my friend too!

Dr. Briel is a fantastic tutor. He was able to seamlessly weave the crucial elements of Greek grammar together with interesting, engaging readings. My goal with Greek tutoring was to begin to read Patristic sources in the original text, and so he introduced me to them via a wonderful text called "A Patristic Greek Reader," which selects passages of the Church Fathers and presents them with extensive notes and vocabulary. Dr. Briel was able to help me to navigate these notes and aid me in not just understanding the grammar, but in actually reading the text itself. Many of our meetings also contained extensive discussion about the content of the text, which brought the readings to life and sparked interest in further studies in Patristics. Our sessions initially took place in person, and then they transitioned to online and phone-call meetings due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Briel was flexible on all of the dates and in every format, and he was able to accommodate my somewhat erratic schedule. For those just starting Greek and those picking it up after some years, I heartily recommend him for your studies.

I like Ryan because he is relatable. He is a good teacher but switches things up because he is still a young adult. I think hes able to teach me because hes still in touch with modern games and music. I find it fun even to learn from because its nice to be able to relate to a teaching figure. --- Kieran
