SAT Reading And Writing Prep
About
I focus exclusively on the Critical Reading and Writing & Language sections, since that's where my skills primarily lie.
I took the SATs in 2014, and according to a score converter, my score on the new test would be a 1530 out of 1600 (my actual score was a 2230 out of 2400). That's in the 99th percentile, so less than 12,000 students out of roughly 2.13 million have scored the same or higher.
I'm mostly hoping to book local students, but would be willing to do online tutoring if anyone out there would be interested in that. (I'm learning Google Classroom as we speak.)
I enjoy the fact that I'm able to put my skills to work helping others. Tutoring is the most fulfilling job I've ever had for that reason; when my students tell me that I've made a difference, it always motivates me to do more. I also enjoy learning from my students, since no two people are the same, and their learning styles can be so different.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing I do with all of my students is some diagnostic assessments, to determine their current strengths and weaknesses, and to make sure I meet the student where they actually are rather than where they think they fall.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been tutoring online since 2016, and have taught over 200 students in that time, with no negative reviews. I also scored within the 99th percentile when I took the SAT, and have been taking college courses in the humanities since that time.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $50/hour for each session, or $175 for every 4 weeks.
How did you get started teaching?
After I received the grades for my first semester in college, I decided that tutoring would be a great way for me to share my knowledge and help other people. I applied for my first tutoring jobs over winter break, and by February, I was starting to accept students. I haven't looked back since.
