Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to first get to know the person and see in which way they learn best and are most productive. I also look back on my past experiences and try to explain the concepts how I think they will understand it the best. Then I will move into the harder concepts and constantly give the student practice and tests to complete, showing me if the student is understanding. At the end of the tutoring I will have a big test like an exam and include all the topics and concepts covered to see what was achieved.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have passed elementary school and am currently almost done with middle school. I got good grades and always focused on my school work. I have received German tutoring myself and have been to many Mathematics competition so have an idea of what the student has to expect.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
9/10 times I will charge only 25$. I always strive to get slightly lower than the best price, aiming for lower than most courses. I try to get the student the most value possible.
How did you get started teaching?
I have visited schools and often had to explain concepts to my friends and peers. I love teaching children and have worked so many times with elementary school kids and early middle school kids.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a big variety of kids going from those who grasp concepts easily and those who need to be told the same thing 10 times before understanding. However I usually work with people who tend to understand things pretty quickly.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say that you should find someone who you think will give you a lot of attention and who has a lot of experience teaching people like you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would say that you should find exactly what you need help with and first establish a got connection/understanding with your teachers.
