What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Each new student is given a comprehensive academic assessment. This unique assessment gives us an objective standard on which to build a customized curriculum based on the student's strengths and weaknesses.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All teachers at the Center have been thoroughly trained on the JEI Learning Center methods. We also have NYS state certified teachers on the staff as well.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

The cost for one month of Math or Educational enrichment, which includes the academic assessment and 4 hours of small group tutoring with our proprietary workbooks, is $200 per month. There are several discounts available for multple subjects, siblings and long-term enrollment.

How did you get started teaching?

We are a dedicated group of instructors, with a passion for education and the children we teach.

What types of students have you worked with?

We work with students from 2.5 to 13 years of age.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

During a recent Parent - teacher conference, the teacher remarked to the parents that her daughter is doing her Math at a level not yet taught in her class. The teacher asked if they are doing anything to supplement her education. They were happy to inform the teacher of her daughter's great progress from her work at our Center.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a tutor in your area of expertise?

Make sure the tutor is well-versed in all the common-core standards and has the ability to teach at a broad level, more than just temporary homework help.

What questions should students think through before talking to tutors about their needs?

What do I need to work on now to catch up to what I may be lagging behind in. But more importantly, what skills do I need not to fall back behind again in the future.
