Hi there! My name is Emily and I‘m a grad student at the University of Nevada, working towards my MA in political science while running D1 XC and Track. I graduated with honors from Scripps College with a BA in linguistics in 2022 and have been working as a math and reading tutor for kids ages 3-16 at Kumon for the past year. I’m patient, reliable, bring an expansive interdisciplinary educational background, and am passionate about the value and power of positive educational experiences for all.

I believe reading and writing is highly essential to a successful future. I am patient and kind to those needing my service. Building a trusting relationship with the student needing tutoring is key. There are no judgements when taking the time to build English skills. With COVID19 I am open to inperson learning or Zoom meetings. I enjoy working with children and have a son of my own. He needed need more help with his reading and writing in earlier grade levels. We took the time everyday after school and he is prospering more now than ever. Watching this change happen was extremly satisfying as his Mom/ Teacher. I hope to give this to other
