What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In the first meeting, I like to get to know my students, their current study habits, and the most comfortable way for them to learn. This is integral in the process to student development and boosting those grades!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 6 years of experience babysitting, tutoring, and developing study strategies for school age students to college age students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I like to cater my pricing to the needs of the individual, and offer package pricing based on the number of sessions we have, the study type the student seeks ex: test prep, weekly tutoring by subject, etc
How did you get started teaching?
I am the oldest of four siblings and have always naturally been a helper. I began formal tutoring in elementary school as a peer tutor, and began tutoring for local families during highschool to present
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students who have learning disabilities, autism, and those who just need love and patience to best understad a topic
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently I got to visit with my siblings and go to the beach, a much needed escape.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise all students to speak with their tutors to ensure their compatability and teaching style before agreeing to longterm tutoring sessions. You will learn best with a teacher that wants to understand you as a student.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How do I like to learn? What length of sessions would I be comfortable in with studying? What should I do to prepare for my tutoring sessions?
