Hi, my name is Sylvia, and I can recite every line of the movie The Princess Bride. Also, I love working with students! The most rewarding part of tutoring for me is when a new concept “clicks” with a student - their excitement is contagious, and it’s a privilege to be able to help them reach that point! On a personal level, I am a friendly, outdoorsy, athletic, and talkative type of person! I partner with students on a one-on-one basis in STEM subjects through SoFlo Tutors, my tutoring agency. I studied Economics at the University of St. Andrews and have been tutoring for 2 years. At SoFlo, we understand that Math and Science tend to build

Kangsoo Y. says, "We just moved to the US from Korea and the change has been very tough for my kids. They are not familiar with the US school system and falling behind. I saw their confidence draining. But all of that changed when SoFlo came into the picture. To start, they gave a free assessment so they could figure out where my children were struggling. From there we had weekly tutoring sessions that my kids actually enjoy. I am seeing their confidence return and life in the US get better for them" Read more

Yolanda M. says, "The response was quick the person who reach out to me appeared eager to assist my child with his math. She asked very helpful questions to determine what was needed to help him. She answered my questions and she was able to meet with us the next day. My child was anxious, but when he met her and she worked with him on his math he was relieved. He said he like that she was able to help him with his math until he understood it. I was very happy he liked working with her. We decided to make another appointment so she can continue to tutor him with his math. I would definitely recommend her. I am pleased!!!" Read more

We used her for the final two weeks before taking the SATs (mainly math) and wished we had hired her from the start instead of the Princeton Review. Live and learn :)" Read more

Reviews for St Louis algebra tutors

Recent success stories from people in the St Louis area.
Karen L.
"My daughter had to write a pre-algebra test in a few days and I was concerned she was struggling. I contacted SoFlo online, expressed my concern and in spite of the tight schedule they moved things around to accommodate my daughter. I witnessed the session and it’s the best thing since sliced bread. I love the teaching method, and that my daughter was offered multiple methods to solve the same problem. I recommend SoFlo highly! He truly cares about you understanding the material. He has his own notes that he shares with you to make sure you understand what you are doing. He also takes it step by step and asks you after each step if you understand it. He also will answer your questions if you text them to him outside of a tutoring session. He texted me pictures of the work, and when I didn't understand it still, he met with me during a time that we did not have set up to show me how he did it and did not charge me for that meeting. He truly cares about your success and is not just doing it for the extra money. I would recommend him to anyone needed a tutor.

Kameron is a great tutor. He meets the student where they are and adapts to their unique needs. He is knowledgeable on high school subject matter, specifically geometry. I feel he is a great role model as well as a younger/closer to peer aged tutor. He is flexible with my sons busy sports schedule
