I recently retired from teaching in elementary schools for 20 years. I have a B.S. in Business from Auburn University and a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I have been continuing to study about how children learn to read and the science behind reading and love to teach children to read by using and teaching phonemic awareness, phonics, decodable books, songs, poems, and high-frequency words.

Over 30 years of teaching and tutoring experience, I have received a number of comments from students about how I have helped them to learn, and with their subsequent education and career. I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, with a minor in Spanish. Also, I have a master's in reading. My experience is in public school, private school, and tutoring.
