I truely enjoy working with students 1 on 1 or in a small group. It gives me a chance understand and work with students to help fill in the gaps of their understanding. I have 16+ years of experience working in the Kansas City metro area including multiple years in the urban core. I love working with students and focusing my attention on their indiviual needs. Hello, I am a licensed and certified Special and Regular Education teacher. I am licensed to teach Kindergarten through 5th grade. I have had the amazing opportunity to work with students with a range of abilities. I taught in a specialized program for 2 years. After that I transitioned to teaching 3rd grade and then I ended up going back to special education where I have spent the majority of my education carreer. Every student has the ability to be sucessfull whether it is in reading, math or social skills. I am a special education resource teacher in Overland Park, KS. I’m certified both in K-12 SPED and K-6 General education. I have worked as a tutor after school for about a year now but I’d like to grow the number of students that I’m tutoring each week. I’m currently working in getting my doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction so I tutor to avoid taking out a college loan. I typically prefer elementary aged students but I am happy to tutor up to 8th grade (up to 12th if it’s for a student with special needs).
