I am offering tutoring services in English writing and reading. I received my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota, and throughout my writing-intensive studies I scored very highly. I am also knowledgeable about social studies, psychology, and fashion studies, and can provide basic Japanese tutoring as well. I am passionate about education and learning, and I want to help people better themselves through the pursuit of knowledge and curiosity.

I like to have a chance to look over course requirements, if applicable, so I can get an idea of what skills and subject matter we will be working on. Once we meet, I’ll ask the student what they struggle with and what they’re good at, so I can assess their skill level and certain areas of focus. I’d then start off by working through a current assignment that is giving them trouble.
I received my writing intensive Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota in 2014 with a major in Asian Languages and Literature that focused on Japanese studies. I have worked at the University of Minnesota Libraries for the past nine years, where I utilize research and analytical skills.
I haven’t decided on a standard rate and set my price on a case-by-case basis.
I first did after school tutoring in high school for a few middle school students. I don’t have too much experience with one-on-one tutoring, but I am confident in my abilities and am very interested in working with students.
Last September my cousin got married and my brother visited America for the first time in years since moving to Japan in 2005. I got to spend some much needed time with him, and he and my boyfriend got along famously. The wedding was a wonderful celebration of family and love that I’ll never forget.
Keep an open mind and try not to get discouraged when it feels like you’re not making any progress. Also, utilize your public library resources! Working at the libraries gives me quick and easy access to all types of print, audiovisual, and electronic content that I can provide to enhance the student’s learning experience.
