What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I prefer to use the student's SAT study book to gat a baseline and then work at a pacethat will get us fluent in the time allowed. I like to have fun with the work; I enjoy crossword puzzles.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BA, MA and ABD (Ph.D. all but dissertation) in Englilsh from Cal State Univ. Long Beach and Kent State Univ.
I taught Freshman English forseveral years at Kent State and The University of Akron.
I wrote successful million dollar grants from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the US DHS.
In my business, I created many marketing pieces and 2 seminal white papers.

I aimed my life at it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I taught typical freshmen at Kent and The University of Akron.
I also developed the Freshman English curriculum for the Dept. of Pan-African Studies at Kent State. Students came from US and Africa, primarily Nigeria. I taughtthere for 3 years.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone you enjoy qorking with who will inspire you toward competence if not excellence.
