About
Hi everyone! I am a Senior Engineer in the Defense Industry with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Civil Engineering/Engineering Mechanics. Throughout my academic career, i have always thoroughly enjoyed teaching!
In college, i led on-campus tutoring groups on behalf of the Engineering Honors Society, as well as volunteered as a STEM educator and tutor to High Schools in the surrounding community of NYC.
As a High School student, i attended the prestigious magnet Science and Math School "the Bronx High School of Science", so i am well acquainted with the types of rigorous AP and college curricula many ambitious High School students engage in!
I believe that my industry experience, educational background, and strong drive and aptitude for teaching math, science, and engineering make me a great candidate for your next tutor!

I love being able to break down advanced problems into basic concepts, relate math and science to the real world, and help students connect the dots between what they are learning, and the many amazing applications of those concepts!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Benchmark their goals for the class. Discuss career aspirations and other interests. Get to know how the student learns and present some commonly used techniques for studying effectively. Have the student present me with some of the material which is causing difficulty for them. Work through recently taught concepts to understand where any confusion lies, and then work from there to build a cohesive foundation that can be used for the remainder of the course.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelors and Masters of Science in Engineering
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching as part of the National Engineering Honors Society chapter at my University in NYC. i was a natural public speaker in front of crowds, and had a good way of explaining complex concepts to younger students and colleagues. Soon, i went from leading our on-campus tutoring, to volunteering my time to teach H.S. STEM courses.
What types of students have you worked with?
i have worked with all types of students, but more specifically students from inner city areas where it is important to truly show the pay-off and the fun-side of subjects like science, math, and engineering!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Hiring a tutor comes down to a couple of important things. First is subject matter expertise. Even more importantly, however, is the ability to convey that expertise.
