About
I am very detail oriented and I will take my time to help you succeed. I believe knowledge is our most useful tool and everyone should have the opportunity to grow their knowledge. I am a certified elementary educator with my bachelor of science delegate in elementary education. I have years of experience working with students from kindergarten through college, both in person and virtually.
I love learning! And I love helping others learn as well. Teaching is a huge part of my life and I love helping students grow and learn in whatever ways I can.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to take the time to get to know my students first. Learning about their own learning style and interests allows me to develop unique ways to help them learn. After I know a little about the student, I can figure out how to best help them as well.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working with elementary and middle school aged students for years. I have worked as a math and reading tutor, childcare worker, summer camp teacher, and classroom teacher at an elementary school.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been working with students for years through after school care programs and summer programs. I attended Eastern Kentucky Univeristy and earned my degree in elementary education. I've been teaching at elementary schools ever since!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from kindergarten through the college level. I have taught first, third, and fifth grade students and worked with a variety of other elementary aged students. I have worked with middle school students as a substitute teacher and college students as a writer tutor at my university's writing center. I have worked with a variety of populations, both academically and demographically.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
All I ask is that you give your best effort! Learning is all about making mistakes and learning from those mistakes, so don't get discouraged if something doesn't click right away.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are you struggling with, and what have you already tried? What kind of questions do I need to ask to get the answers I need?
