About
I have been a Chemistry Teaching Assistant for the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign for the past 2 years. I primarily teach General Chemistry 2, but am willing to teach any other chemistry that you need help with. I have taken Gen Chem I and II, and Organic Chemistry I and II. I have been on the "List of Teachers Rated As Excellent By their Students" for 3 semesters in a row!
I also have a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Minor in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have taken courses in molecular and cellular biology, genetics, anatomy, neuroscience, pathology, and more. I am willing to tutor biology, English, and social studies topics as well. I received a 5 on the AP English Exam and 4 on AP European history, AP Human Geography, and AP Biology
I truly enjoy teaching my students and helping them learn. It means so much to me to be able to see the "aha" moment in my students faces once they understand a concept. I am here to see you learn, and I am so excited to meet you!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work to meet the individual needs of all of my students. I first sit them down, ask them a few questions about themselves (what year are they in school, future aspirations, what do they seek to gain from my teaching, etc.), and usually request that my students send me a copy of their syllabus/material that they are going over in class. I then go into recapping the lessons they are taught, answering all questions along the way. I always go at my students' pace, and they are always free to stop me to ask me to go slower/faster/etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a Minor in Chemistry from the University of Illinois. I have been a Chemistry Teaching Assistant for 2 years, and have been on the list of "Teachers Ranked as Excellent By their Students" for 3 semesters in a row.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically price lessons at $25/hour!
How did you get started teaching?
I decided to start teaching because I wanted to uplift my students to be the best they could be. I want to remove the fear of science from their minds, and provide them with the confidence required to succeed in their courses and in life. I have been a student that used to struggle with chemistry, but I learned to succeed, getting A's in my courses and being a top rated TA.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with college students from many different backgrounds, as well as high school students!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, I had a very good bowl of pasta. It was quite good.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for their credentials as well as how passionate they seem about getting you to succeed. You want someone that is in your corner, helping you get to the next level.
