OC Tutoring

I'm currently a 4th year Biology student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Through my academic career at such a prestigious and rigorous university, I have gained extensive experience that has allowed me to strengthen my understanding in many STEM courses, but my desire to be a well-rounded student has also lead me to success in many of the Humanities courses I've taken in the past. My love for teaching started in high school where I worked at an after-school tutoring program and as a Peer Tutor in my classes, and has continued into my higher education: I have served as an Undergraduate Learning Assistant on campus, an extremely competitive program which has allowed me to teach over 200 students in the past year in introductory Biology courses. I encourage my students to take a more self-sufficient approach to learning (although I'll be sure to guide them as much as they need) so that they can excel in the future!

My favorite thing about teaching is the opportunity to guide students to their own "Aha!" moment. Learning can be fun and I want to help others reach that same conclusion while also achieving the goals they have for themselves.
