Hello! My name is Zara Ahsan, and I am a junior at UCLA getting my bachelor's in Physics. I tutored all throughout high school in Math, Science, and English, and have extensive experience working with K-12 students in my previous job as a climate justice educator and activist. Transitioning from a student in a struggling school district (Oakland Unified), to a physics major at UCLA was very hard, but it has taught me to be creative in the ways I learn, and compassionate to those with different skills sets. As a retired college professor, I bring over 10 years of teaching experience to the table. For more than 20 years, I have coached students, friends, and family members in Mathematics and Physics. As a college student currently working on a Bachelor's in Mathematics at California State University - Sacramento, I have long held great passion for the subject. My tutoring style is about being adaptable to the students' needs: we can move quickly through material, allowing students to cover a wide breadth of topics in one sitting; or we can move slowly, refining our focus and creating a deeper understanding of fewer topics. I’ve had a passion for mathematics ever since I read Einstein’s Special Relativity at ten years old.
