Hello! My name is Zara Ahsan, and I am a junior at UCLA getting my bachelor's in Physics. I tutored all throughout high school in Math, Science, and English, and have extensive experience working with K-12 students in my previous job as a climate justice educator and activist. Transitioning from a student in a struggling school district (Oakland Unified), to a physics major at UCLA was very hard, but it has taught me to be creative in the ways I learn, and compassionate to those with different skills sets. In my university course work, I go out of my way to make sure I understand physics and math intuitively and can explain back the concepts

I’m retired from teaching college for twenty-two years and then thirteen years of teaching homeless adults and people re-entering society from prison. I listen to students’ ideas, concerns, and complaints and take students’ seriously. We also have fun. My pedagogical methods (teaching style) are based on what each student needs.
