I help students get back to having good grades again through my academic coaching programs. Students receive understanding in reading, writing and math to the point that allows them to move onto the next level each year as well as learning and exhibiting the behaviors that support their learning as well as developing the executive functioning skills that they need in order to focus, persevere through challenging content, be self-disciplined and much much more. As a student myself, I struggled immensely from K-12 and so from my own direct experience as a child not receiving what I needed, I now know what students need in every predicament ...

I am just starting my business. I would like the business to grow to where I am able to offer, exectuve functioning classes, job skills training, buddy peer programs, cooking classes, etc. This company will provide accademic tutoring, as well as, other essential skills that the school system tends to leave out. As a teacher, I see that the school systems have failed students with disabilities. My goal is to offer additional services that will prepare them for life. I will focus on creating inclusive opportunities and preparing them for a future of independence. As a classroom teacher, I have felt inadequate and not able to meet the needs of a

I have years of experience working with children and helping them learn, whether it be social/emotional or academic. I have unique insight into ADHD minds, as I myself have ADHD. I also have a great understanding of many other learning differences such as dyslexia, reading comprehension disorder and autism. I give each of my students my undivided attention and discover how they truly learn best. I ask myself which combination of kinesthetic, visual, auditory, and reading/writing teaching do my students need in order to thrive? I understand that students need to have a positive relationship with their teacher. Studies have shown that it fuels ...

What is special education tutoring?

Special education tutors help students with mild to severe cognitive, emotional, or physical disabilities. Special needs tutors modify the general education curriculum to meet the child's individual needs and involve themselves in each student's social and behavioral development.

What is disability in special education?

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) identifies 13 disability categories where special education should be provided.

  • Auditory Impairment (AI) – refers to a hearing loss not categorized by deafness.
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) – mainly affects a child's social and communication skills and behavior.
  • Deafness – covers kids who can't hear most or all sounds, even with a hearing aid.
  • Deaf-Blindness (DB) – covers kids with both severe hearing and vision loss that requires unique programs.
  • Emotional Disturbance (ED) – various mental health issues such as anxiety disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and depression.
  • Intellectual Disability (ID) – covers disabilities such as below-average intellectual abilities, poor communication or social skills, and poor self care. One example is down syndrome.
  • Multiple Impairments (MI) – a child with multiple disabilities in this list.
  • Orthopedic Impairment (OI) – covers impairments in kids who lack function or ability in their bodies, such as cerebral palsy.
  • Other Health Impairment (OHI) – conditions that limit a child's strength, energy, or alertness such as ADHD.
  • Specific learning disability (SLD) – conditions such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, auditory processing disorder, or nonverbal learning disability.
  • Speech or Language Impairment (SI) – covers difficulties such as stuttering, pronouncing words, making sounds with the voice, or understanding words.
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) – injury to the brain caused by a physical force.
  • Visual Impairment / Blindness (VI) – covers both partial sight and blindness.

Reviews for Sacramento special education tutors

Recent success stories from people in the Sacramento area.
The F.
I really liked the way Zanetta (and her mask)came to meet with myself and my husband to learn about the needs of Michael, our son. He has special needs so it's important to us that we have someone who is understanding of his needs. Our tutor was awesome and we were pleasantly surprised by how well she worked with our son. It was a little more expensive than we anticipated, but, well worth it. His grades have improved and so has his confidence.

Jennifer worked wonders both academically and motivationally to help my daughter for two years of her high school. Math concepts became understandable and homework and tests became manageable. And Jennifer helped in other subjects as well and also with overall organization, study habits and goal-setting. I highly recommend 'Inspired Students' for great results!
