I'm a semi-retired software engineer. My experience covers a wide range of the software development spectrum. I worked for decades as a senior and leading software engineer in many hi-tech companies. Over the past few years, I have literally helped tens of Computer Science/Software Engineering students ranging in grade from very young, 7-8 year old, students whose parents wanted to learn programming to PHD students. I also helped many middle and high school math students, especially with Algebra. It gives me a great pleasure and satisfaction watching my students grow and advance in knowledge and competence in the subject matter being covered.

I emphasize that there is clearly a difference between “doing the math” versus “understanding the math”. I help students understand that math is a progressive learning experience. As the student advances his/her math studies I show how follow on courses expand on the basic formulas and theorems to solve more complex problems applicable to the real world of science. Started tutoring in math since 2009 as a senior in high school. Teachers/students liked me and asked me to come back as a college AVID tutor during my undergrad at CSUSM in 2016. The school I worked for as a tutor upgraded me to a substitute teacher when I passed my CBEST and graduated with a Bachelor's in Social Science: Psychology, Sociology, and Communications.
