I have several years experience as a certified literacy tutor and homework helper. I also have TESL certification. (Teaching English as a Second Language. My special skills are in English coursework - covering reading, grammar, spelling, literature, along with writing guidelines for both term and research papers. My goal is to make learning fun, and I use several techniques to help students reach their goals. I enjoy the moment a student understands a certain concept or strategy I've taught them so they're better able to retain and use that new knowledge in their future educational endeavors.

Jane F. says, "Bright Minds on Tutors has been a lifesaver for my daughter, Emily. The tutors quickly identified her learning style and made complex subjects understandable for her. I’ve seen a noticeable improvement in both her grades and confidence. The sessions are well-organized, and I’m thrilled with the progress Emily has made. I highly recommend Bright Minds to any parent looking for effective tutoring." Read more

I love teaching english as a second language as well as helping the more advanced improve what they have already learned. I've been teaching private classes as well as business english classes for 10 years & will continue to do so. I love when a new student starts to speak in English and to see that look on their face when they understand how to communicate in their new language.

I also work as a tutor for Do Your Homework at the Library (DYH@L), where I tutor students K-8, but sometimes high school and college as well. I have also been recently been accepted to tutor on tutor.com (the Pierson's Review tutoring service). And I have a master's degree in progress. First of all, I have a passion for helping students, which is why I have worked with students my entire life. Second of all, I enjoy the process of breaking down problems into smaller, more manageable steps and planning out how we are going to attack them. Working with smaller steps makes problems less overwhelming, easier to understand, and easier to solve. T...

Hi my name Is Elijah Gipson I was born and raised in San Diego California graduated college got a degree in music production I am returning to college to get my teaching degree in Music my previous work experience I worked in the school helping students prep for tests I've done this for a year now. When it comes to student prepping for a test whether if tis math or English or science quiz the most important thing Is to go over the questions one by one and also reteach the subject that is based of the quiz so the student can refresh there mind. By the end of the test prepping I would have students do a little short quiz so they can get familia

I am a retired community college instructor. I worked for nearly 30 years in the English Department, helping struggling students improve their reading and writing. Since my retirement, I have worked one-on-one with middle school and high school students, helping them to raise their grades in the courses varying from history, math, and English. What makes my tutoring stand out is my versatility. I am comfortable tutoring nearly any subject (with the exception of chemistry). I enjoy seeing my students succeed!...

Our daughter LOVES TLC, and has from her very first session! She absolutely looks forward to each and every session, even getting up early on Saturday mornings, without complaint and eager to go for two hours. Her favorite thing about TLC is the clinicians, and although she is most fond of one in-particular, she's happy to work with everyone. Paisley's favorite activity at TLC is AMPS "because it feels like games, even though I know it isn't, and it helps me with my response speed." From a parents perspective, it's wonderful to see that my child is happy to be participating in this therapy. Paisley's ability to sound out and spell words was so difficult before TLC that she would fight tooth-and-nail to avoid writing, but now she willingly writes and types her homework assignments, and is improving in her ability to spell words that she wouldn't even attempt before. Most importantly, she's able to get her thoughts out on paper without the agony she used to experience while trying to express herself. Her confidence has increased, she tries when she used to give up, and she's having successes in learning that we feared she might never experience - like getting 100% on a Math quiz last week - Hooray! We couldn't feel more blessed and grateful to have found TLC!
