Since graduating college, I have delved into the pharmaceutical field working as a clinical research coordinator. When I tutor, I try to give curriculum materials that support the child's needs, but also help them to advance in school by aligning to the school's challenging material or supporting the level of struggle that some grade levels carry in Common Core subjects. I am currently getting certified in Orton Gillingham, a reading approach great for all readers including those with Dyslexia. I have 8 years experience with teaching and literacy, have completed over 100 hours of early literacy coursework, and I LOVE helping students become successful, independent readers!

Since I am a student, I can understand every emotion that comes with frustration or being stuck on assignments or lessons that may appear confusing. I put my best foot forward to first understand the lesson by myself and find a different approach to make my students understand to the best of their ability. Additionally, even if they are anxious or are having the urge to give up, I will look from the perspective of a student and comfort them to focus on understanding only what they can.
