With Math and Language Skills, Many Students "Get Lost."I pinpoint weak skills and problem areas, and go over the prior skills necessary to attack the given exercises.  This sometimes requires a few extra sessions than expected, but the results are worth it!  Soon, my students grin at their new found skills and abilities, feeling proud and empowered!I majored in Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics (changing my majors more than once, I love all of these subjects, and more!) I've tutored since the 1980s, from Jr. High / Middle School to College Level.Count how many times in reviews about me that Students and Parents use the ... View Profile

I have been involved in private education since 2002. I first worked in an after-school tutoring academy that specialized in teaching small groups at a time. When the place decided to close its doors, multiple students had their parents reach out to me because they preferred my teaching style over others'. Thus, I was able to privately tutor for many years. All of my new clients came through word-of-mouth alone, which is a good indicator that I was able to provide them with quality help. For the past 8 years, I have been instructing math classes at a test prep academy. Aside from SAT and ACT classes, I have taught all math classes from Pre-Al ... View Profile

My service stands out in comparison to other services because I will often give lower prices than other tutoring competitors, while providing a more effective and efficient lesson plan that caters to the student's demands. Because I contstruct lesson's plans prior to a student's scheduled session, the student is more likely more out of the time provided than with any other tutor.

My tutoring style consists of first understanding the pupil’s level, e.g. by using past papers. From there, I create a lesson plan targeting the specific areas that the pupil found challenging. I believe a tutor should be empathetic, committed and knowledgeable.

I have been tutoring students in mathematics since I was in 9th grade. All throughout high school I consistently tutored algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. On average I taught for about 4 hours per week in high school. After high school I attended the University of California, Irvine from 2015-2020, where I received a B.S. in Mathematics, a B.S. in Computer Science, and a minor in Statistics. The entire time I was in college I also mentored a high school robotics team, where I taught students concepts in engineering, computer science, physics, and math. I also volunteered at a program called UCI MathCEO where we did math activities and taug ... View Profile

cliche words aside, I like making things as efficient as possible. What I mean is, you know when you have a problem and you ask your teacher to explain it, but they spend 5 minutes too long explaining what you've already done, and you just want to bridge that tiny gap in your knowledge? I'm pretty good at spotting that and adjusting to your pace. Exams wise, the way I got my grades was adapting my studies to the exam marking schemes and knowing how to maximise my marks. Making notes from a textbook isn't the way to go. I've done A-level further math and SAT math subject tests, so if you need help with those that can also be done :) ... View Profile

I explain many lessons and problem solutions with very vivid, visual explanations. I know that it is often difficult to understand a lesson or problem with how a book or teacher defines it. By breaking the lessons and solutions down to a general step by step guide combined with visual examples, that include an easy and a hard one, the student will feel like they can even teach and tutor another person. You do not have to be an expert at the whole subject. My main focus is to help a student become an expert at a concept, a lesson, an equation, a problem, etc. Then once you do that for all of the concepts of a subject, you can feel confident en ...
