About this tutor

After tutoring a variety of mathematics for a number of years, I've decided to take this online and attempt to teach students anywhere through the computer.

Overall, I've simply loved tutoring and being able to teach students, and I wouldn't be on here if I didn't believe I'd do a good job.

Explains things in detail and is patient when you don’t understand. He will go back over the same problem until you get it. Very knowledgeable.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I first try to gauge how much they know, and if they know nothing, that's where I'd teach the basics and work up from there!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I was paid by my school to teach as a general tutor and help any level of math that came my way. Afterwords I started tutoring privately, and now I'm here!

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

From what I've gathered, I'm relatively cheap. Normally, I only tutor for $20/hour even though old teachers said that my service was worth $15/half-hour at the very least. Especially for topics like calculus, only $20 an hour is quite a deal.

How did you get started teaching?

Back in highschool, I started tutoring math when I was only in my sophomore year. That was very general tutoring for minimum wage, but I still did my best. Rumor around the school my senior year was that I was the easiest to work with and most knowledgable tutor despite the staff also being made up of college students.

What types of students have you worked with?

I've worked mostly with high school students, including disabled and those struggling in their classes.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

A band I recently got into had announced their new album. Needless to say I get to share the joy of new music with the friends who also love the band.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

"Do they understand the concepts?" Math today is taught in such an... interesting way. To keep it short, the problem many students face are that they lack knowledge in the background processes of the math they're doing. I do my best to simplify those processes.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

"Can you explain this simply?" A lot of teachers teach very formally, with a lack of person-to-person instruction. Going to your teacher personally and showing concern on a topic you don't understand usually works. Don't be afraid to say "explain it simpler." Sometimes it's just one little thing you need to make it click.
