Since 2016 I've worked in some local school districts as a Spanish and ELD instructor, but most recently as a substitute teacher. I am credentialed in both German and Spanish and most recently spent time in Sicily. My love of languages will be apparent working with students who may be struggling in Spanish, German and/or learning English as a second language.

I am a certified Special Education teacher with experience working with students grades TK-8th. I've worked in education for 8 years and have experience teaching fundamental skills like reading, reading comprehension, writing, and math to students with a variety of different needs. I am a recent graduate of the University of Sonoma State earning my degree in Biology. I have worked with all ages ranging from 5 to 18 in tutoring different subjects but my strong suits include math and science. I work great with kids 1 on 1 and have a lot of patience and understanding for kids who have a harder time learning difficult subjects. I can simplify complicated topics and deliver the material in a way that is very easy to understand. I am patient and enjoy solving math problems. If students like math or any other subjects, they have a better chance of succeeding in them. I want them to try solving a math problem by using different methods. There's always more than one way to solve a certain math problem. The more ways they know, the more open-minded they become. That's the goal I want students to achieve: to become open-minded and be creative. Having an open mind helps them both in school and in life.

As a current college student I am always actively helping out friends or other students with their school work. I have always enjoyed helping students with their school work whether its in math or English concepts. I will want to get to know each student and help them with their current and future goals. I will take my time with students no matter if they are more on a slow or faster pace of learning so they get a clear understanding of concepts. My goal as a new tutor is to be able to make students enjoy their work and get them involved in their work so it becomes fun for them to do.
