Hello! I’m Erica, a dedicated tutor who loves working with kids and helping them discover the joy of learning. As a current undergraduate at UC Berkeley, I understand what it's like to struggle in school—I once faced challenges in all subjects during middle school but persevered to achieve academic success. This experience allows me to deeply empathize with students who face similar difficulties, and I am committed to guiding them on their path to success. I have many years of experience as a leader and peer tutor, having taught students in various clubs and offered free tutoring to my underclassmen in high school. My teaching approach is

I incorporate a variety of techniques to tailor lessons to students’ unique personalities, goals, and learning styles. Parents and adult students have appreciated my passion for teaching, and my use of humor, games, everyday experiences, and the internet to not only explain the material but also to EXCITE students about LEARNING and to become lifelong learners. Additionally, I don’t just help students to understand and apply lesson content, I instill in them good study habits, including leveraging techniques (such as creating acronyms and associations) to enable them to learn and retain information more rapidly and reliably. Sarrita helped me prepare for my SAT in December. I took the test in October and didn’t do great. I rly needed a good score for my college Apps. Thanks To Sarrita I got a 1550, up from 1240. Sarrita’s a rly good teacher and working with her is easy. She’s very patient and helped me a lot with my anxiety. My biggest prblem is with math cos I was sick during a lot of algebra 1 and 2 and I hate geometry. But she taught me how to spot certain questions and get to answers quickly. I’m glad I won’t need to take the SAT again. Sarrita’s also tutoring me for AP Chemistry and AP World History. One thing I like the most about Sarrita is that she believes in me. She’s very smart but she won’t intimidate you with how smart she is. She knows so much that I only ever need one tutor to help me with all my subjects.

We just moved to the US from Korea and the change has been very tough for my kids. They are not familiar with the US school system and falling behind. I saw their confidence draining. But all of that changed when SoFlo came into the picture. To start, they gave a free assessment so they could figure out where my children were struggling. From there we had weekly tutoring sessions that my kids actually enjoy. I am seeing their confidence return and life in the US get better for them
