Hi! My name is Sophia, I graduated in 2024 from Oregon state with a major in Business and political science. I am special education teacher with a background in Psychology. I graduated from the University of Northampton in England and moved to Arizona in 2018. I have experience teaching middle school, and have highly qualified status in Language Arts.

I taught English at Millennium High and had a great success rate with students who would return to visit me when they were attending college. They wanted to express their gratitude for having me as their instructor in high school because as I told them when teaching them, college would be easy for them if they followed what I taught them.

I've accumulated a lot of experience and knowledge in engineering topics and social science topics (I have a Ph.D. in Engineering Education and a Ph.D. (All-but-dissertation) in Mechanical Engineering. My name is Sami Giancana and I have a masters in special education and hold an Arizona special education teaching certificate. Before becoming a teacher, I was a biological archaeologist. My passion is teaching students of all ages and have expertise teaching and tutoring, English writing, math, science and social studies. I particularly love, teaching, writing and science. As a special educator, I’ve worked with a variety of learners and believe that education should be tailored to each individual student.

As a retired high school English teacher with both public and private school teaching experience, I have a passion for literature and writing. My favorite aspect of English is literary analysis---all the elements and how they apply to the story. I still occasionally substitute for the Glendale Union High School District. Additionally, I am certified to teach English until 2034.
