Hello! I am a trained early childhood educator and nanny with several years of experience. I have always been a top student who aced multiple AP exams in high school, and am now a psychology student at the UW. A self-proclaimed nerd, I spend much of my free time continuing to learn about subjects that fascinate me and am currently studying for the GRE with hopes of continuing my education to the doctorate level. While I am an excellent tutor due to my academic skills, I believe I stand out because I truly enjoy the work I do and love watching my students reach success. Watching a frustrated student reach that moment of realization- that mome

I have been a tutor for a company called Team Read for 4 years. There I worked for Seattle Public School District as an after school tutor to one elementary school student every year. I am currently in college and so I will be able to relate more to the students that I will be helping. I love to work with students. I recently graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in history with an education certification. I am currently pursing a masters in Curriculum and Instruction....

I graduated from Harvard and recently received my Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology from the University of Washington. I am incredibly passionate about teaching and helping my students grow into generators of knowledge - not just passive recipients of information. If we work together, I will bring my diverse range of experiences - from studying spider monkeys in the amazon to conducting multiple linear regressions in Stata - to help you connect with your studies. I am highly invested in your success, both professionally and personally....

Emily B. says, "Kate immediately created a safe, welcoming space for my child. They especially love how she incorporates *fun* to break up the *work*. Making schoolwork feel fun and possible is no easy task. As a parent, I feel supported in my concerns, and excited that my kiddo looks forward to doing her homework with Kate. It’s felt right since the beginning and I’m so grateful for her tutoring!" Read more

My situation was unique. I had serious epileptic seizures during high school resulting in multiple brain surgeries and a long, challenging recovery. Matt entered my life during this time; I still had assignments to complete before graduation and an impending SAT exam, so I met with Matt twice a week and learned the essential concepts of writing and reading comprehension. While math was my strong suit, Matt helped me identify some earlier math concepts that needed refreshing. My initial SAT score prior to my relationship with Matt was 1260, but, after tutoring, I received a 1510 and was accepted by my school of choice for pre-med studies. I continue to meet with Matt two or three times per week during my undergraduate studies for more advanced writing strategies. I cannot imagine a better academic mentor than I have found with Matt.

Kate is a dedicated educator and I cannot recommend her highly enough! She has been tutoring my second grader in both reading and math for several months and her tailored approach has significantly improved his skills and confidence in each subject. Kate fosters a positive learning environment, making the sessions enjoyable for my son while still remaining focused on achieving academic progress. I am truly grateful for the impact she has made on my child’s education!
