If you're seeking to strengthen your math skills, I’d love to come along side you to make math make sense, and develop good studying habits tailored to how you learn. Even if all you need a quick and concise explanation of a concept, I’d love to help! Naif J. says, "He is a very helpful tutor and made things easy to understand, the questions he asked were easy to follow. Whenever we had trouble understanding a topic, whether on the homework or on the test, he would portion out time during the next class to help us learn about what we were confused or lost about and give the information in a new way. He is also lenient on work as long as you showed that you put in a lot of effort into trying out the problems on your own." Read more

With a Master’s in CS and Math from the University of Washington and over a decade in the tech world. I’m passionate about helping high school kids who feel lost in subjects like Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, or Statistics—I’ve got a knack for turning confusion into ‘aha!’ moments. I also prep students for AP exams (AP Computer Science Principles and AP CSA) and tutor Chemistry and Biology, making tough topics click with clear, patient explanations. I prefer 1:1 sessions because I love tailoring my approach to each student, helping them boost grades and confidence. I’ve seen struggling kids light up when they

I used to be a project engineer/planner for a few large oil and gas companies. Always had the passion for teaching and learning. I am now a budding software engineer. I enjoy to help other people to see the beauty in math and sciences. The epiphany that springs out and shines through off of a learner's face when they finally understand a concept is priceless. I like observing a student's journery trying to navigate through Math's weird greek symbols/jargon to fully appreciating its beautiful structure and basic rules....

Hi there! I just graduated from the University of Washington (Seattle) in June 2023. I completed my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood and Family Studies (Teaching and Learning) in three years. I am currently attending Seattle University in their Masters in Teaching Program. I am working to become an elementary school teacher and I am student teaching in a second grade class. I have worked at a math tutoring center called Mathnasium in California and here in Washington. I absolutely love both kids and math and would love to help kids any way I can! I also thought a good way to measure my skill level is my AP test scores. In high school, ...

Macy L.
My situation was unique. I had serious epileptic seizures during high school resulting in multiple brain surgeries and a long, challenging recovery. Matt entered my life during this time; I still had assignments to complete before graduation and an impending SAT exam, so I met with Matt twice a week and learned the essential concepts of writing and reading comprehension. While math was my strong suit, Matt helped me identify some earlier math concepts that needed refreshing. My initial SAT score prior to my relationship with Matt was 1260, but, after tutoring, I received a 1510 and was accepted by my school of choice for pre-med studies. I continue to meet with Matt two or three times per week during my undergraduate studies for more advanced writing strategies. I cannot imagine a better academic mentor than I have found with Matt.
