My goal is to make learning fun. I am entirely capable of teaching based off worksheets and books but I love teaching based off games. Kids enjoy learning this way and they will remember what they learn. I have been a 1:1 para and behavior technician for over 6 years, working with kids for 20 years. I meet students where there at, then take steps towards where they need to be.

Hello! I am excited to apply for the tutoring position in Science and English Language. I bring a background in medicine along with strong communication skills developed through both academic training and personal experience growing up in America in a multilingual and culturally diverse family. My medical background has given me a solid foundation in scientific subjects and strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, patient, and engaging way. In addition to science, my experience growing up in a household with multiple languages and cultural perspectives has helped me develop strong English language skills and an apprec

Heya! My name is Ash, I’m a 14 year old student at Lakeridge Middle school with who is in accelerated courses with a 3.5 GPA. As an older sister, I have constantly been put in a tutoring role. My classmates enjoy explanations from me when they aren’t understanding the subject being taught. I get A’s on most of my tests and my priority is my future. I’ll ensure your child will understand concepts. As somebody with ADHD, I can understand feeling stuck on concepts and school work, so if that sounds like your child I would love to work with them and help them grow into learning to love school.

Hello! My name is Nicole, I am a biochemistry major taking a lot of science and math classes. I want to help students who struggle with feeling intimidated or overwhelmed, when facing "tricky" subjects like chemistry, math, calculus, algebra, psychology and more. I want to make it easier and more enjoyable and fun to learn these subjects, as with the right mindset they are very doable. I know how it feels to be overwhelmed and confused, so I want to help others feel empowered and confident in these not so tricky (just intimidating) subjects. I am finishing up my education soon at Shoreline Community college and have accomplished a 3.8 cumulat

Hello! My name is Eva and I am a high school student looking to tutor younger kids (Elementary-Middle School) this summer and we prepare for the school year. I’m going into my senior year and have taken several high-level classes such as pre-calculus, AP Physics 1, and AP US History. I believe that learning is fueled by passion! I not only want to help your student master certain subjects, but I also want to teach how important the learning we do in school is for everyday life.

My situation was unique. I had serious epileptic seizures during high school resulting in multiple brain surgeries and a long, challenging recovery. Matt entered my life during this time; I still had assignments to complete before graduation and an impending SAT exam, so I met with Matt twice a week and learned the essential concepts of writing and reading comprehension. While math was my strong suit, Matt helped me identify some earlier math concepts that needed refreshing. My initial SAT score prior to my relationship with Matt was 1260, but, after tutoring, I received a 1510 and was accepted by my school of choice for pre-med studies. I continue to meet with Matt two or three times per week during my undergraduate studies for more advanced writing strategies. I cannot imagine a better academic mentor than I have found with Matt.

Perhaps what I most appreciate about Carissa is that she’s not only been a good math tutor, but she gets along amazingly with my 15-year-old-grandson. He can be in a negative space when I pick him up from school, and he clearly perks up when he and Carissa are working together – I hear them laugh together often. There doesn’t seem to be any ‘superiority’ in the relationship although it’s clear that she’s won the respect of my grandson. Other things I also appreciate: she’s been highly reliable; she’s made every effort to accommodate and flex to meet our needs relative to schedules; she’s researched and recommended helpful resources; she’s been responsive when I’ve sent her messages; she’s been good about leeting us know if there a reason she needs to miss a session – and she always tries to make it up; she’s been willing to communicate with my grandson’s math teacher at school; and I should not fail to mention that I think her rates are quite reasonable. Carissa is able to be an effective tutor without standing on formality, and that not the impression I got from other math tutors I initially considered. I truly ENJOY seeing her every week, and I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Kate is a dedicated educator and I cannot recommend her highly enough! She has been tutoring my second grader in both reading and math for several months and her tailored approach has significantly improved his skills and confidence in each subject. Kate fosters a positive learning environment, making the sessions enjoyable for my son while still remaining focused on achieving academic progress. I am truly grateful for the impact she has made on my child’s education!
