I am a Professor of Theatre, and the Chair of Theatre, Speech and Dance at the College of William and Mary, where she teaches Renaissance studies, playwriting and gender studies. I hold a Ph.D. from UCLA, and previously taught at Goldsmiths College, University of London. I am the author of several books on theatre, including Performance Analysis: an Introductory Coursebook, co-edited with Colin Counsell, and Introduction to Theatre: A Direct Approach.
