I love to teach and excite students in whatever they are learning. I began teaching in public schools when I was 22. I taught 3rd and 4th graders for 11 years in all subjects. I then stopped teaching when I had my first child. However, my children were homeschooled and I taught many different types of classes in a homeschool co-op. My main focus is on elementary age students in all subjects. However, if you have a group of students who would like me to teach a mini science class, I can do all ages! I enjoy coming up with new ways to teach a lesson, and I am passionate about my students.

My name is Brooke Kirkey and I have been an English teacher for 16 years. I have a B.A. in Print Journalism and M.Ed in Educational Leadership. I am highly qualified to teach all grade levels with certifications in PK-12, and a principal certification. Aside from my experience in the classroom with students of all ages and stages, I also have a passion for reading and writing. It is not only my profession, but what I truly love to do for fun in my spare time. I look forward to meeting and working with students to develop individualized tutoring that will help fill any gaps, and elevate their writing to the next level.

As a biology graduate, I have developed a strong passion for understanding how living systems work and for helping others make sense of complex scientific concepts. Through my coursework, I have built a solid foundation in topics such as cell biology, genetics, and human anatomy, while also learning the importance of clear communication and critical thinking. I am eager to apply my knowledge as a tutor, not only to reinforce my own understanding but to support students in gaining confidence and clarity in biology and stem subjects. I'm a certified teacher for K-6 elementary education and ESL certified. I have experience teaching 4th and 5th grade math and science in the public school system.
