Karen L. says, "We just moved to the US from Korea and the change has been very tough for my kids. They are not familiar with the US school system and falling behind. I saw their confidence draining. But all of that changed when SoFlo came into the picture. To start, they gave a free assessment so they could figure out where my children were struggling. From there we had weekly tutoring sessions that my kids actually enjoy. I am seeing their confidence return and life in the US get better for them" Read more

I'm knowledgeable and patient. I believe it is important to build on the student's confidence as well as their skills, because panic hurts performance almost as bad as being unprepared. I have a Masters and a degree in Economics from Southern Illinois University. I am a professional economist with a heavy background in math and statistics. I've been active in this discipline for over 30 years in a wide variety of industries. I was also in the Air Force. Currently, I tutor in Economics, Math, and Chess. Brittany R. says, "Ms. Laura is an educational tour-de-force! Our son Maxwell was falling behind in 5th grade, struggling to stay on reading level. After just a few weeks, we saw improvement in both Max’s grades, and his reading comprehension! Having seen his brother’s improvement, we enrolled our youngest, Quentin, in Ms. Laura’s early literacy lessons! Quentin is just 4 years old, but he’s started really enjoying Frog and Toad. I would absolutely recommend Ms. Laura for any reading problems your children may be facing!" Read more

Ashley J. says, "I am lucky to have Emily as the tutor for my boys! I have a 5th grader who is diagnosed ADHD and she is so patient with him! Since starting with Kip McGrath their grades have improved. My 5th grader came home from school SO excited because his MAP scores had increased much higher than anticipated! My 3rd grader’s reading level has also increased as well as his desire to read which had been a struggle. We have done both online and in person and they are equally amazingly impactful. I would highly recommend Kip McGrath ❤️💙" Read more

My daughter had to write a pre-algebra test in a few days and I was concerned she was struggling. I contacted SoFlo online, expressed my concern and in spite of the tight schedule they moved things around to accommodate my daughter. I witnessed the session and it’s the best thing since sliced bread. I love the teaching method, and that my daugher was offered multiple methods to solve the same problem. I recommend SoFlo highly!

Ms. Raheela is an amazing teacher! The best of the best. She has helped me with my reading, writing, and grammar on both schoolwork and SAT preparation. She taught me various tips and tricks to help me improve my performance. She is very kind, intelligent, and insightful. She has helped me decide which courses and exams to take in high school and how to prepare for college. Honestly, it's great advice that can't be passed up. She definitely knows what she's talking about!

Ms.Chistine was extremely helpful with tutoring my son. We specifically needed support with his upcoming 5th grade STAAR & entering 6th grade ISEE exams, which she provided. She was patient, straightforward, engaging, and kind. My son was able to quickly warm up to her. I really appreciated the strategies she taught him to use during his exams and we saw tremendous growth. (He mastered both exams!) I would most definitely recommend Ms.Christine for your child's tutoring needs.

Valentina did an excellent job with our son. He and his friends are taking HS Algebra 1 while in middle school. Unfortunately, their teacher was not instructing them causing most in the class to fail. We contacted Valentina early in the semester hoping she could help bring the grades up to at least passing before the semester ended. Valentina worked with my son on two occasions. According to my child, Valentina was able to help him break down the problems and understand the concepts and why's to Algebra which were eye opening to him. He said he could have passed all the tests had the teacher explained Algebra like Valentina. After working with her, his test grades started to soar. When we contacted Valentina, his Algebra average was a 56. He is now sitting at an average of 100 on his most recent progress report. The grade is especially important due to the fact that he is taking this course in Middle School and his average will follow him to HS. The struggling teacher eventually resigned in the first semester. Valentina was the very first tutor we ever used. Our child was reluctant because he felt he was a failure for needing one. Valentina was so good with him, explaining that even those who are not failing can always get guidance just to give them an extra boost, maybe taking their grade from a 90 to a 100. She completely removed his perceived stigma around tutoring and asked for her help again. We highly recommend Valentina, not only for her math skills but also because of her positive interactions with our child.
