Cassidy’s Spanish Tutoring

I like to sit down and go over their prior knowledge to see what they're working with. Once I know their level, I assess their class work and ask which areas they're struggling in. From there I can create a customized tutoring plan tailored to their needs. 

I am currently a Junior at UNT, and I have been in Spanish classes since middle school. I have been tutoring in various subjects since I was 14 and I am currently employed by UNT as a history tutor. I have studied child development and psychology as well as education methods and know how to utilize different learning styles for maximum knowledge retention. 

Generally I charge $25/hour for weekday sessions and $35/hour for weekends or anything past 7pm, but pricing is always at my discretion. 

I got started teaching when I was 14 and my little cousin's school in Mexico asked me to come in and teach English for a summer. From there I've been a tutor for various subjects (English, History, Spanish, Political Science, SAT Prep, etc). 

I have worked with students of all levels and ages, from 2 years old to 50 years old. 

A recent event I am fond of is when I taught one of my peers how to correctly use adjectives in Spanish, and now he texts me constantly describing different things around him. 

Experience is definitely important, but age can also play a big factor as to who you vibe with and who you don't. Some people like that I'm young and others don't. I will also say that my age does not mean my knowledge of the Spanish language or my experience as a tutor is less than others. In fact, being in college studying to be a teacher puts me at an advantage as I am very up to date on the best teaching methods. 

Students should consider which issues they are having specifically, and if they cannot figure it out, we can work together to find what level they are at.
