I have 12 years of tutoring experience—also, two years of homeschooling experiences that have helped me create great relationships with students and parents.

I had to learn different ways to manage and accomplish school goals during my academic career. I never shy away from telling my story about being different growing up.

I distinguish all students do not retain information the same way. However, I still graduated high school early with a college scholarship. Today, I use individualized plans for each of my students. This means each student gets a personalized curriculum or syllabus. This plan is developed after the first ten weeks of tutoring.

My greatest passion in life is passing down knowledge. Watching my students grow.

Most of the students I tutor today are in public, homeschooled, AP/IB, prep schools, or college. However, I accept students from different academic backgrounds. I work with middle school to college-age non-traditional students.  (6th grade -college)

I run a small tutoring/mentoring program in my everyday job,  and I help run two family businesses. I belong to 8 honor societies and multiple professional organizations. Please, reach out with any academic questions. I am here to help.
I do not teach  ( Elementary ) age students at the moment.  Please, make sure your child is in middle school or above before contacting my company.

I have much experience working with people from multiple religions and cultural backgrounds.

Thank You-Val

I like how she always helps me when I am struggling and listens to what I have to say in class. She is a great teacher and getting through school is easier with her.

  • Chaunte Medina

She is extremely patient, passionate & dedicated to helping our children understand the information/lessons. As I have a son whom has a bit harder time focusing &a daughter whom fights to say she is struggling with a topic. She's able to work with them and appeals to each one in a amazing manner that they've loved working with her! I also love how she works with our family schedule to make sure the hours work for us all! You can't bet working with Amber!

Val really takes her time to explain and teach the material so you are able to understand. Because of her I seen my grades highly improved and would highly recommend her to anyone.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

You - I always set a  consultation meeting.

- Adult students need to reach out to me.

-Now, for school-age children under the age of 17. First, I would like to hear from the parents.

.  Each parent has a set of ideas about the child’s academic struggle.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

I feel this is an individual process. After that, we will put a plan together.

Think about your Academic wants and needs. It does not hurt to think about 5 years from now.
