My name is Avery. I am a highschool Junior in Warwick, Rhode Island. I was a member of my National Junior Honor Society in middle school, and am on track to be in the Honor Society at my current school as well. I have tutored kids in math for a few years, and would love to continue.

I have been teaching an eclectic selection of courses for over forty years. I have formally taught a variety of engineering courses. I recently taught high school students computer programing part-time for two years. My background in engineering helps me to provide strong math and science skills and my ability to understand the perspectives of my students allows me to personally adapt to their needs and ensure strong progress. My inherent ability to do well on standardized testing is useful for tutoring for the SAT and ACT tests. Besides the time spent personally with a student, I can help provide test preparation strategies.

The most rewarding part of tutoring for me is when a new concept “clicks” with a student - their excitement is contagious, and it’s a privilege to be able to help them reach that point!
