I have not only been a research scientist at several medical centers and research companies, I've taught biology and other sciences for grades 9-12, college, and was an Instructor at U-Michigan Medical School, where I was the Manager of the Learning Resource Center. I have experience tutoring students with various learning disabilities. I use creative approaches to reinforce theory.

As a tutor, I bring a special passion for history and writing that nobody can match. Through using narratives and careful explanations of historic nuances, I can make students want to explore more about history on their own outside of the classroom or my tutoring sessions. While helping write essays and memorizing dates or events is important, I also believe that it is crucial to understand how history effects our current lives and defined the world today.

I am fairly young, but basically an old rebel soul. I certainly understand what it's like to struggle in academia; I don't care much for the obligatory nature of compulsory education. I'm more of a savant of the niche fields of study I actually care about, but I am a proficient researcher, eloquent speaker, and generally know what it is your "teacher types" want to hear and see. I am a mostly self-taught German speaker, but my first language is English. I don't have any ethical hang-ups about helping you get an A+ "...by any means necessary!"

I am a recently (June 2025) retired Public Elementary Special Education Teacher with a Master's degree + and 23 years classroom experience in all school settings; Inclusion, Small group instruction, 1:1 instruction, Emotional Support, Behavioral Support, Self-contained classroom and in all Academic subject areas. My passion is teaching. I began with 10 years experience working with adults with disabilities and decided I needed to reach children at young grade levels to make progress and a difference in their futures.

As a college student myself, I recognize for adaptable learning environments that help students grow for their own educational needs. I plan my teaching methods based on each students needs and goals for their lessons to ensure they are most excelling in multiple Advanced Placement classes during my high school career. I love working with children and being able to help grow their confidence in their ability with new understandings of material.

I have experience tutoring students in math (i.e., algebra, geometry, etc.) and reading/writing. I have been tutoring over 4 years now.

I tutor in English and English Comprehension, Reading, History, Grammer, Social Science and Test Prep Prep. I am team player and I believe learning should be fun. But, I don't believe failure is an option.
