Welcoming you to a learning experience, narrated by me Ember. I can help you achieve your goals. We can both learn how to work together. I have been teaching and coaching for 40 years. We can even read books together. I didn't even use AI for this paragraph, back in the day we had to write with pencils and pens, which still might be useful. Don't forget to write down this profile on a sheet of paper, just incase electricity shuts off. Proper English is differently written in this year of 2025. I am a Montessori educator seeking tutoring opportunities. I have rich and varied experiences, as a private tutor, home-school teacher for pre-K, 1st and 2nd grade during the pandemic, middle school coordinator and teacher, in-school tutor for mathematics and writing, and a substitute teacher at primary and elementary levels. I have completed Montessori elementary and adolescent training, and have over 10 years experience in teaching. I had a pre-K to 3rd teaching license before I began planning, creating, and teaching Montessori curriculum for adolescents, and did my student teaching in a traditional 1st-grade classroom. I enjoy children, gu

I am a hard working teacher and tutor. I have a lot of experience teaching children with special needs. For basic reading skills I prefer a heavy phonics based system. The Curriculum I use is Recipe for reading. I enjoy. In math I like to bring every student into the realm of concrete reality. EG, I rely heavily on manipulative and illustrations to teach specific skills. How I teach writing differs depending on where the student is currently at. At the lower ranges, I focus more on spelling using phonics based strategies. My more advanced students learn more about grammar, structure, and writing compelling arguments.

What is disability in special education?

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) identifies 13 disability categories where special education should be provided.

  • Auditory Impairment (AI) – refers to a hearing loss not categorized by deafness.
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) – mainly affects a child's social and communication skills and behavior.
  • Deafness – covers kids who can't hear most or all sounds, even with a hearing aid.
  • Deaf-Blindness (DB) – covers kids with both severe hearing and vision loss that requires unique programs.
  • Emotional Disturbance (ED) – various mental health issues such as anxiety disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and depression.
