I have been an English teacher and school counselor for nearly 40 years. I have also worked with college students and professional educators. I love educcation and working with young people, not to speak of the love for my subject area. I enjoy working with young people and more so when I can see that "light bulb" go on in their understanding of what they seemed to be confused about! In other words=When they "get it"!

Is your child struggling to learn to read? I am passionate about helping children build a strong foundation of phonics reading skills. I am a Certified Academic Language Practitioner. I use the Orton Gillingham method to explicitly teach readers how to decode and spell words. This approach is individualized and is proven successful in building stronger reading and writing skills. It's amazing to see the growth that can happen with individual or small group tutoring.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in education and recently completed my master’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
