Hey there! I'm Amy, an experienced teacher and math tutor based right here in High Point, NC. I am passionate about teaching and come with 25 years of experience. I'm here to help make tough subject matter more understandable and help students conquer their math challenges. Whether you're struggling with algebra or AP calculus, I've got you covered. We can work together to boost confidence and math scores.

I have 7 years experience working as a middle school math teacher, along with having various tutoring opportunities. I am patient and encouraging, and I strive to help students see the “why” behind what they are doing, not just memorizing the steps. I have worked with a variety of ages but feel most comfortable helping with late elementary, middle, and early high school math topics and am open to test prep help as well.

I am in the age group my customers are in; I can better understand and relate to issues and find ways to solve it that will most appeal to them. I have volenteered to tutor kids that range from elementary school to high school. My experience allows me to better aid to a customers needs. Teaching is not a career goal but rather a hobby:)

I retired in 2022 as a software professional and have been pursuing my passion of helping students in reading, writing, and math. I have BS in Computer Science and an ME in Computer Engineering. I was the high school valedictorian, winning both the English and Math awards. I love working with kids and currently volunteer my services at Hope Academy, working with grades 2-8. I also raised 3 successful children, all with advanced degrees in engineering and law.

Learning should be fun! I like to find ways to implement fun activities into lessions so that you not only have fun, but you're also more inclined to retain what was taught! I love being able to help people achieve their goals in a way that is most comfortable for them.
